Past Initiatives

The Professional Women in Building Council is proud to have contributed to the following charitable initiatives.

2025-2026

Back to School Shoes for Students PSJA Donation

While in Mission in September 2026, the PWB Council saw a need for students to receive new, reliable shoes. PWB Council Chair Mary Ramirez returned to PSJA the following week to deliver over 25 pairs of shoes to students in need. The PWB Council facilitated this donation to help the students have a great school year.

Back to School Supplies Drive

The PWB Council traveled to Mission in September of 2026 to meet with students and faculty and deliver much needed school supplies for children. The PWB Council believes in providing students with the required materials for learning so that the next generation of young professionals can focus on their education without worrying about needing books, pencils, or folders.

Rainbow Room

The RGVBA and PWB Council supplied toys, children's clothes and personal care items to the Rainbow Room in November of 2025. The Rainbow Room's mission is to serve as an emergency resource center supplying essential, brand-new items to children and youth entering protective care due to abuse or neglect.

CTE School Donations

The RGVBA and PWB Council facilitated the donation of lumber and supplies with Matt's Building Materials and Builders FirstSource to aid the curriculum for valuable local CTE school programs, helping to make hands-on education accessible to prospective builders in CTE education and training.

Food Bank RGV

The RGVBA and PWB Council facilitated the donation of $1,000 to directly support the local food bank's operations in November of 2025. Food Bank RGV is passionately committed to improving lives through food assistance, nutrition education, and access to community services.

Combat Veterans 23-15

The RGVBA and PWB Council facilitated the donation of $1,000 to directly support the Rio Grande Valley chapter of the Combat Veterans Motorcycle Association in November of 2025.
